September 7, 2013
On Saturday, September 7, 2013, The Hunger Games movie/book fans fed their craving by watching the trilogy's first award-winning movie (filmed in part in Western N.C. aka WNC) on a 40-foot outdoor screen at approximately 1700 feet above sea level at Chimney Rock State Park in WNC. Fans came early with paid park admission for afternoon movie-themed adventures offered by the Hunger Games™ unofficial Fan Tours (which has been featured on NBC, ABC, the NY Times and USA Today) that included Archery Tag® bows, arrows, and targets. Experienced and first-time archers alike enjoyed the Archery Tag® activities and “I am Katniss” was heard quite often!
The target shooting and movie were way up on the mountain.
