About Us
The Center for Family and Community Development was developed by the board members of the Girls’ Center of Essex County, New Jersey a residential center for adolescent girls. After closing that program in 1987, the board continued its interest of community service by creating the Center for Family and Community Development. The Girls’ Centers assets were donated to the new non-profit corporation. It was our goal to support community programs that served families and enhanced community improvement. The Center for Family and Community Development is dedicated to improving the capacity of organizations that improve the lives of families and communities.
