About Us
Sunstream Retreat Center, the Des Moines area retreat center for the Christian Retreats Network, overlooks the Des Moines River, providing picturesque views of the valley. Our all-inclusive packages offer per-person rates to make planning easy and affordable. Sunstream has the facilities to accommodate 350 overnight guests. Our retreat packages include everything your group needs to have a successful ministry event: lodging, dining, meeting, and recreation.
Sunstream features heated and air conditioned, year-round accommodations in 40 guest rooms in motel & dorm style lodging. In addition to the guest rooms, Sunstream also offers a RV Park and tent sites. All of our retreat packages include buffet style meals in our dining room; multiple entrees, salad bar, dessert, etc. Event planners can upgrade one of the meals to a sit and serve banquet with linens. Of course no meeting is complete without snacks, so don't forget about our extensive snack list! Meeting spaces are available for small gatherings and large conferences, with our largest venue seating up to 400 guests. Group retreat packages include a private meeting space with A/V equipment, set up to your specifications, all at no extra charge. Lastly, packages include basic recreation (blacklight sports arena, human fooseball, game room, basketball, sand volleyball, soccer, football, disc golf, gaga ball&tdot) Groups can add on additional recreation and aquatic center.
Add some excitement to your event with our Adventure Challenge team building programs. Whether team building on the Low Ropes Course, zipping through the skies on the Zip Line, or scaling up the Climbing Tower, you can be sure your group is making memories that will last a lifetime. Our program manager will work with your group to customize a program that will complement the purpose of your retreat or conference.
Sunstream's most recent addition is the Pioneer Village Explore. Here guests can practice shooting at our archery and sling slot ranges, learn welding at the blacksmith shop, and whittle some wood at Grandpa's wood shop.
